New textual witnesses found by R. Deutinger

In the new issue of the Deutsches Archiv (74/1, 2018, pp. 177-191) Roman Deutinger has drawn attention to a hitherto unknown textual witnesses of Leges texts. Deutinger discovered transcriptions of the Lex Baiuvariorum, the Lex Salica and the Lex Francorum Chamavorum in the collections of the scholar Wolfgang Hunger (1511-1555). Especially the transmission of the Lex Francorum Chamavorum is a great asset, since only three manuscripts of this Lex were known so far.

5 (6) years Bibliotheca legum – New publication on the occasion of the anniversary

In 2017, the Bibliotheca legum celebrated its fifth anniversary! Since anniversaries are always a reason to reflect on the past, the Bibliotheca team did the same and recalled the genesis and development of the project. We also gave some thought to the future prospects of the Bibliotheca. The result is an article in the German “Zeitschrift für digitale Geisteswissenschaften”, which you can find here: http://www.zfdg.de/2018_006.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank all those involved and supporting the Bibliotheca legum!
