legal knowledge that existed in the Carolingian period. All
"leges" (secular law texts) that were copied during that
time are included. The database was originally prepared for
use within the History Department only. The idea to make
this tool publicly available emerged in summer 2012. A short
description containing information on repository, origin and
history of the manuscript, contents as well as additional
literature etc. is available for each codex. Those are
encoded according to the TEI P5 standard and downloadable in
xml format. Further resources like existing descriptions,
digital images etc. as well as texts and studies that
accrued within the context of the project are also included.
